Disturbed's David Draiman has begun talking about his new project, Device, whose self-titled album will be out April 9. He says that the album is done and features him, ex-Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo and a half-dozen guests:
- Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler
- ex-Sabbath and Deep Purple singer and bassist Glenn Hughes
- Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello
- System of a Down singer Serj Tankian
- Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows
- Halestorm's Lzzy Hale, who duets with him on a remake of the Lita Ford-Ozzy Osbourne song "Close My Eyes Forever"
He says that Lenardo will not take part when the band hits the road this spring. The live lineup will be Draiman on vocals, Virus from Dope on guitar and Will Hunt of Evanescence on drums. Although Draiman initially touted the project as "industrial," it ended up having a wider range of styles than that -- although electronics is still a big part of the sound. So the live trio will be enhanced by sequenced backing tapes and devices triggered by both Virus and Hunt.
