After 22 years is a new My Bloody Valentine album coming soon? Very soon according to singer and founding member Kevin Shields. The frontman announced the news at a My Bloody Valentine show this weekend, saying that the long-awaited LP "might be out in two or three days,". Shields has promised new albums before and failed to deliver but this time some evidence can be gathered from the show itself. The group opened their Brixton Electric gig with a new album cut called "Rough Song". There was fan footage of the song but it has since been pulled from YouTube after a copyright complaint was filed. A move that shows My Bloody Valentine is serious about keeping their new music under wraps. Supposedly the band finished mastering the album in late December but have yet to make further announcements.
Here's "Only Shallow" off the band's 1991 release Loveless.
