The Flaming Lips are no strangers to odd ways of releasing their music, but this has to be the strangest. Not to be outdone by the Jack White liquid filled record, the Flaming Lips are releasing a limited edition of their Record Store Day 2012 release 'Heady Fwiends."

Limited to 10 copies, these records are filled with the blood of the people who helped make them. This includes Ke$ha, Erykah Badu, Nick Cave, and Chris Martin Blood.

They won't come cheap though, each one will cost $2,500.

I also had the pleasure of catching The Fake Boys on Friday. While their older material is a little more straight-forward punk (at times pop/punk) their new album 'Pig Factory' slows it down and adds some grunge elements to the mix. 

It's definitely one of my favorite albums of the year so far. They just released this video for the track 'Realest World.' 

I was fortunate to catch these guys Friday night in Hamilton. They're from Chicago. Great live show, and they managed to make tiny little Galaxy CDs sound huge. Their EP is only $5 on their Bandcamp page here, or you can just listen for free.

After a critically acclaimed debut album, and a collection of previous EPs Japandroids are ready to make some noise in 2012. And they do indeed make some noise. The first "single" off of their new album "Celebration Rock" is "The House that Heaven Built" and if it doesn't get your blood pumping I don't know what will.
