Soundgarden's biggest album, 1994's Superunknown, gets two different reissues today (Tuesday).
The Deluxe Edition adds a second disc with demos, rehearsal tracks, B-sides and live songs. The Super Deluxe Edition is a five-disc set with a disc of B-sides, a disc of demos, a disc of rehearsal tracks and a Blu-ray with the album remixed in 5.1 surround sound.
Frontman Chris Cornell says that Superunknown came at the right point in their career because they had just gained a worldwide audience -- with Badmotorfinger -- that thought the group was brand new. Cornell says that being a decade into their career at that point allowed them to be comfortable experimenting in the studio. He explains, "It was one of those great moments that a band has with a maturity that comes along naturally."
